I-Create Lab exploration

 Today as a class we explored the I-create lab as part of the TAMU-CC campus. My team partner and I decided to work with the 3-D printer and the CNC machine.  The machines: we will be working with are a 3D printer and a CNC machine. Plan: The is to use the 3D printer to create a trellis and labels for the plants. We are going to use resin as a material. Also, we plan to use a CNC machine to create a hands-on puzzle to make a flower/insect that aligns with the STAR Hero Journey/TEKS.  The idea : Students will discover how plants grow with support. The trellis will be created as a support for the plants similar to how education and new information are scaffolded. The students will then also create and design labels for each of their individual plants that they will be able to take home. In addition, the student will have a hands-on puzzle project (built using the CNC machine) to put together related to the TEK we have chosen and integrated within our STAR hero journey sto...

Maker Space- Working Lab

 Today in class we started working on gathering information for our next project. Maker Space.  Here is a TEK I am thinking about: Science Identifying plants based on their specific characteristics Exploring texture in the garden(properties of soils & abilities to support plant growth)   Science 5.9 A. METRO Team Teach Ready- Tello Drone and We Do 2.0

  On 09/26/23 my partner Alex and myself will be participating in an after-school program at Metro Elementary  School. During the time frame of 4:15 to 5:30 we will be given the opportunity to teach students about the We Do 2.0 Bot and the Tello Drone. To prepare for this Alex and myself have come up with the following breakdown of time to use as a guideline during our teaching. We have also come up with the idea of using anchor charts to help describe some of the verbiage and background knowledge to the students. Another hands-on activity that we thought might be good for the students was to print out some “code” pieces and let the students work on building their own code in groups. This way they can participate hands-on without the use of the computer to better understand the concept of coding. TELLO Drone Programing and notes

 Below is a step-by-step notation of the information to program the TELLO drone. While learning how to program this drone I also learned several new vocabulary words that I have listed below. This would be a great starting point as to give students background knowledge before jumping into the program and coding.  Drone Blocks Programming Notes- Vocabulary-Terms to introduce-                 Blocks- a lexical structure of code source which is grouped together                 Code- a set of instructions that tells a computer what to do.                  Hover- to remain in one place in the air.                  Yaw- the rotation around a vertical axis.
